The President of the republic of Ghana, His excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has criticized the current structure of the Security Council.
Speaking at the United Nation General Assembly held on Wednesday, 25th September 2024, the president said that global inequality has obstructed the progress of many countries. This global inequalities is as a result of the underrepresentation of Africa, Latin America and then South Asia in the Security Council, hence the difficulty to address the various wars in certain countries.
He admonished that the Security Council must be inclusive of everyone and then the interest of the marginalized must be protected. He also noted that quality education requires global commitment and corporation as well.
Speaking about the progress of his policies, President Akufo-Addo stated that the Free SHS has benefitted 5.7 million Ghanaians. Also the Ghana Card has helped promote efficiency, transparency and accountability. The Planting for Food and Jobs has enabled about one million people get employed.
