The former minister for trade and founder for the Afrafranto movement, Honorable John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten has stated that about 70 to 80 percent Ghanaians don't have the intention to vote in the 2024 general elections.

During his meeting with the International Economic Affairs on Tuesday, 1st October 2024, Hon. Alan Kyeremanten stated that Ghanaians lack intention to vote due to the government's inability to tackle galamsey, no constitutional reforms, economic crisis, power outages, and parent's inability to pay for the post-second cycle education of their wards.

He also stated that Ghanaians lack the intention to vote due to the division caused by the 'duopoly', the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress. The government is unable to unite the citizens in the country. The system practiced by the 'duopoly' has given rise to 'winner takes it all syndrome'. The government is not able to continue the projects left over by the previous government.

He further stated that not only politicians, but Ghanaians must change their mindset and attitude to enable the development and progress of Ghana.
