Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams has pointed out to two major challenges facing Ghana football, whiles speaking before the Parliament Commitee on Tuesday, 24th September, 2024.

According to the renowned sports journalist, the first issues has to do with coaches, especially those of the junior teams not well-payed, although they get contracts. He noted that some of them have not been payed for about 3 years, and in one case, the coach was not payed for eleven years.

He also noted that due to coaches not well-payed and in some cases not been payed at all, the country cannot participate in the under-17 tornament because their payment is not specified under the contract. Moreover, some people offer money to coaches, and in return they manipulate the coaches to bring in unskilled players into the teams, thereby reducing the performance of the Ghana football teams.

The second issue he specified deals with lack of training complexes in the country, where football players can setup their camps. Due to this problem, the players sleep in hotels, which is not approprite to enable them play effective football. Therefore, training complexes must be setup to enable the players perform well in the football team.
