Police sends 39 anti-galamsey protesters to court

The Ghana Police service have arrested and sent thirty-nine anti-galamsey protesters to court, following the 'unlawful' acts at the 37 intersection on the 22nd and 23rd September, 2024.

In the official letter of the Police Service signed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police and Director of Public Affairs, Grace Ansah-Akrofi, twenty-eight of the protestor are remanded in police custody and the remaining eleven are remanded in prison custody.

Out of the thirty-nine arrested protestors, thirty are to appear before court on Tuesday, 8th October, 2024, whiles the remaining nine will appear before court on Friday, 11th October, 2024. The remaining suspects would appear before court for justice.

The case, according to the police is prosecuted by the office of the Attorney-General.
